Officers of local VFW Post 2166 in Elizabethton presented Elizabethton High School 11th grade student, Tyanna G. Hitechew, with an award and a $100 gift certificate for her recorded essay “Why is the Veteran Important?” at Elizabethton High School and T.A. Dugger Middle School 6th grade student, Jillian M. Keene, an award certificate and a $100 gift certificate for her written essay “My Pledge to Our Veterans” at the middle school.
Their winning essays were selected out of all submissions.
