Dorothy Ann Orellana, 77, of Elizabethton, Tenn., passed away Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Johnson City Medical Center. She was born to the late Thomas Charles Whitehead Sr. and Mildred Hilbert Whitehead on September 19 in Camden, N.J. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Dee Ellingsworth, and brother, Thomas Whitehead.
Dorothy was of the Baptist faith having attended the First Baptist Church of Elizabethton. She was known as a caring and giving person, who loved to cook, bake, and share meals with her family. Dorothy also loved to work puzzles and travel and held a special place in her heart for her cat “Baby” whom she loved dearly.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Daniel C. Orellana, of the home; her daughter, Kimberly S. DeNero of Elizabethton; three sons, Thomas Berish “Junior” and wife Michelle of Elizabethton, Jason Orellana and fiancée Crisandra Giorno of Bensalem, Pa., and Lincoln Orellana and Kristin of Elizabethton; 11 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
A service to honor and celebrate the life of Dorothy will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 24, in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home with Mr. Josh Baggett officiating. The family will receive friends between the hours of noon and 2 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the service. The graveside service and interment will be conducted at Happy Valley Memorial Park following the funeral service. Active pallbearers will be T.J. Berish, Jason Orellana, Lincoln Orellana, John DeNero Jr., Anthony DeNero and Brendon Orellana. Honorary pallbearer will be Adam Jacob Berish.
