Registration begins for the second annual Happy Tails 5K run and 1K pet walk. The Friends of the Elizabethton-Carter County Animal Shelter non-profit organization is pleased to announce its annual Happy Tails 5K Run/1K Walk event in Downtown Elizabethton on February 12. The event will start at 2 p.m. at Covered Bridge Park.The public is invited to join the fun and get some exercise with their furry friend! Pets on leashes are encouraged to join. The entry fee is $25 before February 10; $30 the day of the event. All proceeds from this event will support a low-cost spay/neuter facility in Carter County. A free shirt is provided with the sign-up cost. The event is dog and stroller friendly. To register, visit FECCAS.org.
