The Rev. Wesley Duncan and his wife, Kim, began a new ministry at the New Liberty Free Will Baptist Church on Jan. 1 of this year.
The Rev. Duncan previously served as pastor of the Burbank Free Will Baptist, Roan Mountain, for three years. Prior to that he served in ministries at Union Baptist Church, Hampton; Big Meadows Baptist Church in Newland. N.C., and Roaring Creek Baptist Church in North Carolina.
The pastor began preaching when he was 16 years of age and has been pastoring since he was 28.
He described himself as an old-time Bible based preacher whose goal is to win souls and as a pastor build a strong church fellowship based on Bible preaching, good singing, and dedicated people. “I like to meet people where they are, not judge them, but love them. God’s the judge. My job as a pastor is to love them and point them to Jesus,” the Rev. Duncan said.
He and his wife, Kim, are the parents of three grown children, all who live in North Carolina. They include Nicholas, who is the father of three sons; Allison, the mother of two girls; and Nathaniel.
“New Liberty is a good church. They love the Lord and enjoy worshiping together, and our doors are open to all to visit and worship with us,” the new pastor said.
New Liberty Free Will Baptist Church is located at 107 Peters Hollow Road, near the Stoney Creek Volunteer Fire Dept.
