On Sunday, February 19, 2023 our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Louise (Cole) Tolley, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 75. Louise was a lifelong resident of Carter County and was the daughter of Willard and Jessie (Sheets) Estep. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Roger L. Cole, and a brother, Willis Estep.
Louise was a wonderful and caring person who went above and beyond for her loved ones. She always had a smile and a kind word and loved her Savior beyond words. Most recently Louise attended the Experience of Pentecost Church. Louise enjoyed playing solitaire, including being Solitaire Queen (without the crown), and making friends on Facebook. Most of all she enjoyed making memories with her family.
Louise leaves behind her second husband of 32 years, Paul Tolley of the home; her son, Timothy (Shannon) Cole of Johnson City; her stepdaughter, Elizabeth Clawson of Elizabethton; her stepson, David (JoAnn) Tolley of Elizabethton; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Louise is also survived by her church family and friends.
A celebration of Louise’s life will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday, February 25, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Pastor Chris McCurry and Pastor Ronnie Reece officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 2 until 4 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service. The graveside service will follow in the Kress Cemetery (Hurley Hollow Road, Elizabethton). Active pallbearers will be Gary Kemp, David Blackburn, Harold Presnell, Ronnie Taylor, Brian Burkner and Logan Hicks. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations in Louise’s honor and memory to Loaves and Fishes Ministry, 1200 19E Bypass, Elizabethton, Tenn.
