The City of Elizabethton Parks and Recreation Department, in partnership with the Carter County Drug Prevention Coalition, recently held a glow dodgeball event at the Elizabethton Parks and Rec Center, which turned out to be a huge success.
The free event had over 250 people turning out for an evening of playing dodgeball in a dark gym lit only by black lights that illuminated the different colors of neon being worn by many of the players.
With glowing neon yellow nerf balls lined up at mid-court, the action started as teams on each end of the court were sent scrambling to pick up the balls and eliminate players on the other side by either hitting them with one of the balls or the opposing player dropping the ball on an attempted catch.
At the end of the event, there were a couple of games where the adults squared off, with the kids making for even more memories.
There will be another glow dodgeball free event for the public on Friday, March 10, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Rec Center in the event this one was missed.
