To the Editor:
I would like to recognize the Carter County Commissioners for their oversight regarding the state’s purchase of this valuable facility called the Carter County Workforce Development Complex. They did not take for granted what they were told, but perused the agreement the state of Tennessee presented to them and found transparency lacking.
Instead of blindly agreeing to what they were told, the commissioners and lawyer revisited the agreement and found something missing regarding access to this facility by our student population. I commend them for their foresight and trust when the time comes to broker the final agreement, that all “understandings” will be contained in the written word of the contract and that it will benefit Carter County, as we have for a number of years, been very progressive in recognizing the value of technical skills which are highly valuable to our populations.
