Leroy Junior “June” Birchfield, 57, Johnson City, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2023, at his residence.
A native of Carter County, he was born July 23, 1965.
June was employed as a tree trimmer and landscaper. He loved hunting and fishing. He was of the Free Will Baptist Faith.
June was preceded in death by his father, Sherman Creedy Birchfield.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah “Sally” Hagenah Birchfield; one son, Dylan Birchfield, Johnson City; one step-daughter, Jennifer Doty, Hampton; his very special granddaughter, Kaylee Jade Birchfield; his mother, May Belle Banks Birchfield; one brother, Scotty Allen Birchfield, Hampton; and niece and nephews, Hayden Birchfield, Hunter and Bella; and his four-legged friends, Buddy and Rocko.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 23, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Matthew Guy and the Rev. Bill Highsmith officiating. Active pallbearers will be Dylan Birchfield, Dillon Jones, Logan Slone, Charles Julian, Hayden Birchfield and Eddie Phillips. Honorary pallbearers will be his friends and family. The family would like to express a special thank you to his best friend, Charles Julian. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
