Gray woman faces multiple felony drug charges after traffic stop

JONESBOROUGH – On the afternoon of March 29, Washington County Deputies arrested and charged Iris V. Bentley, 41, of Gray, with Schedule I drug violations, manufacture/deliver/possession of methamphetamine, simple possession and unlawful drug paraphernalia.

According to Sheriff Keith Sexton, deputies conducted a routine traffic stop in the county. K9 Sgt. Mali was deployed and found Bentley to be in possession of pills identified as Schedule IV barbiturates, heroin (2 grams), methamphetamine (20 grams) and marijuana (20 grams), all packed for resale. She also had three glass pipes and a syringe in her vehicle.

Bentley was transported without incident to the Washington County Detention Center. She is being held on an $11,500 bond and will appear in Sessions Court at 1:30 p.m., March 30.
