On the first Friday of each month in May, June, July and August the streets of downtown Elizabethton will come alive for an amazing community event, Main Street Director Courtney Bean said, adding, “join us for a casual evening connecting with friends and family and experiencing what our downtown offers.”
This year’s First Fridays will involve fun and excitement, she said. “This summer series is one of our favorite events because it allows us to showcase our incredible downtown district,” she said. “We are excited to highlight more engaging activities throughout downtown this year, such as live demonstrations on the sidewalks, samples of new products at restaurants, and games and activities at businesses. We cannot wait for everyone to experience First Fridays this year!”
Bean suggested participants explore local boutiques, vintage shops and art-centric spaces as well as enjoy performances and live music in the streets throughout downtown. “Treat yourself to drinks and great food at one of our downtown establishments, while experiencing the warmth of our community and bustling district,” she said.
First Fridays are presented by Main Street Elizabethton, City of Elizabethton Parks and Recreation Department, Elizabethton-Carter County Public Library and Carter County Tourism.
Each month, Bean’s office will release information and details for each Friday event.
