To the Editor:
Earthday.org announced the theme for Earth Day 2023 an “invest in our planet.” Over a billion people observe or celebrate Earth Day. Many schools scare and stress students with exaggeration and misinformation.
It’s wrong to scare children and put planet over people. It’s good to recycle. Carter County could do better because Carter County doesn’t recycle glass as Johnson City does. However the Christian priority is to invest in people by telling them about Jesus and that Jesus is their greatest need.
Environmentalists wrongly believe climate change is the highest priority and greatest threat and humans are the greatest cause of climate change. Humans have about as much environmental impact as spitting in Watauga Lake would affect it. One congressman said carbon dioxide is less than one percent of our atmosphere. It is .04 percent. About 10,000 scientists with the highest degrees have signed a petition. The scientists said there is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, or other greenhouse gases, is causing or will cause catastrophic heating of the earth’s climate. Moreover, scientific evidence shows carbon dioxide produces many beneficial effects upon plant and animal life. Carbon dioxide from humans sources only contributes 4 percent per year. The rest coming from the oceans, decaying vegetation and volcanoes.
We are seeing record volcanoes erupt and record earthquakes just as the Bible predicted for the end days in Revelation. Everything that can be shaken will be shaken. The earth will have climate change soon when one-third of the earth burns during the tribulation, probably from all volcanoes becoming active at the same time or from the sun. So yes, our global climate is changing rapidly just as the Bible said it would and no, there is nothing you can do about it and there is no power on earth that can stop it! In Romans 8 the Bible says, “For we know the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs,” as it waits earth’s real savor – the return of Jesus!
The Bible says we are to be good stewards of the earth, but we can’t save it. Only Jesus can save the earth and each of us. Pope Francis and other globalists have been pushing climate change as a world problem for over 50 years to give the U.N. more power and money. Globalists are moving the world toward the seven-year tribulation. The Bible in Revelation says the earth will be slave to a global religion, a global currency and a global dictator. Globalist billionaire Bill Gates’ highest goal is to lower the population of the world. The number goal of globalists is to maintain the world population at 500 million people. We have over 7 billion on earth now so over 90 percent of the people would have to die to make globalists happy.
Gates is the biggest farm owner in America. Gates may have purchased the land to keep someone else from farming it. Gates and other globalists want people to only eat insects or meat made in a lab. Some say Gates makes the meat from human cells making whoever eats it a cannibal! The “Gates” of Hell will not prevail against Jesus! Globalists in America are actually doing the most damage to the environment by causing all the record toxic train derailments to destroy the water of America. The country of Sri Lanka was destroyed in the name of environmental justice by globalists. It was the first and many more will follow!
Environmentalists and mass shooter Gendron killed 10 people in Buffalo, N.Y. Gendron said he picked the location because it had strict gun laws. Gendron didn’t have good intentions but most environmentalists do. Most have good intentions but the “road to hell is paved with good intentions.”
When saving the earth is your number one issue and focus it has become your religion. Earth/nature worship has even gotten into some churches and some books used by churches. The Message “Bible” inserts Earth reverence as a new requirement to go to heaven in 1 Corinthians 6. It inserts the phrase “use and abuse the earth” as a great evil that keeps one from going to heaven. The Message omits the sin of homosexuality from several passages such as 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 and also 1 Timothy 1:8-11. Christians shouldn’t observe Earth Day or bow down to “Mother Earth.” The Message shouldn’t be used by any Christian because it isn’t trustworthy and puts political correctness over accuracy. Some aren’t happy with “the old time religion” and use their translation to make their own kind of religion. If your church uses it you should move to a church using real Bibles!
Environmentalists have shown more concern for animals than for people. Jesus made a distinction between animals and persons. Jesus said, “Are you not much more valuable than they?” The Bible teaches that humans are created in God’s image with a soul, making them the most valuable resource on earth. Therefore Christians are more focused on saving souls not the earth and focused on the creator (Jesus) more than the creation. The Bible says the earth is the Lord God’s. You won’t get eternal life by feeling God in nature or helping the environment, but only through a relationship with Jesus that changes your nature. The Bible says only with the blood of Jesus covering our sins will we escape the wrath (judgment) to come. The Bible asks, “what would it profit a man if he gained the whole world and lost his soul?” C.S. Lewis advised: “Aim at heaven and you will get earth thrown in, aim at earth and you get neither!” You will never know a perfect earth until the only perfect one returns. You will never know perfect love until you know and love Jesus. Only the perfect love of Jesus casts out fear!
