JOHNSON CITY – Graduates of East Tennessee State University’s class of 1973, as well as all former Golden 50s Club members, are encouraged to attend the Golden 50s Reunion on May 5 and 6. ETSU President Dr. Brian Noland will host the groups during the two-day spring weekend extravaganza.
On Friday, May 5, registration at the James and Nellie Brinkley Center (formerly Millennium Center) ballroom begins at 9:30 a.m. The reunion groups will tour the campus and the Johnson City area to see changes that have taken place since these graduates left the university.
During a special reunion brunch, attendees will be honored, and the class of 1973 will be inducted into the Golden 50s Club. Individual and class photos will be taken at this time.
Following the festivities, VIP walking tours of the D.P. Culp Student Center, Reece Museum and Sherrod Library will be available.
On Saturday, May 6, all Golden 50s Club members are invited to participate in the class of 2023 spring commencement, where the group will be recognized. A special Golden 50s breakfast will be held at 8 a.m. at the Alumni Office located at the Model Mill, 602 Sevier St., across from Founder’s Park. The reunion attendees participating in these activities will don golden caps and gowns before being escorted to the Ballad Health Athletic Center (Mini-Dome) for the 10 a.m. graduation festivities.
