The following arrests have been reported by the Johnson City Police Department:
On April 19, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Dennis Ramirez, Greeneville, and charged him with one count each of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, false reporting, possessing a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, and possession of methamphetamine.
At approximately 9:35 p.m., officers responded to 2 Avondale Circle in reference to a prowler. Upon arrival officers made contact with Ramirez, who provided officers with a false name and date of birth. While officers spoke with him, Ramirez attempted to run and get into a vehicle. Officers were able to detain him. While he was detained, officers were able to locate an ID card and positively identify Ramirez. Officers checked him for warrants and discovered he had an active warrant with full extradition from California for a parole violation. Ramirez used the false name in an attempt to avoid being taken into custody. During a search incident to arrest, officers located a loaded firearm in Ramirez’s waistband and a baggie containing a crystal like substance believed to be methamphetamine in his pocket.
Ramirez was taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Detention Center where he is being held in lieu of a $25,000 bond. Arraignment was on April 20 in Washington County General Sessions Court.
On April 19, Jonathon Scott, Johnson City, was taken into custody by the Johnson City Police Department on charges of theft over $1,000.
The arrest stems from an investigation that took place after a reported theft that occurred at Factory Direct Furniture. During the incident, Scott cut a moving truck’s catalytic converter off which was valued to be over $1,000. When responding officers processed the scene, it was made aware that Scott had left his backpack along with his cutting instruments and mail that was addressed to him at the scene of the crime.
Scott was transported to the Washington County Detention Center where he is held on a $2,500 bond. His arraignment was on April 20 in Washington County General Sessions Court.

On April 21, officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Aaron Hicks, Johnson City, stemming from a trespassing investigation.
At approximately 2:30 a.m., officers were called to Federal Self Storage on Princeton Road in relation to a male entering the business unlawfully. Officers arrived on scene and found Hicks standing on top of the storage units and looking into them. Contact was made with Hicks and investigation revealed he had two active felony warrants for breaking into the same storage complex on multiple occasions. On his person, Hicks had numerous keys and tools to enter the units.
Hicks is being charged with five counts of burglary, one count of attempted burglary, one count of false reporting, one count of theft under $1000, and one count of possession of burglary tools. Hicks is being held in the Washington County Detention Center in lieu of a $67,000 bond. An arraignment hearing was on April 21.

On April 25 at 2 a.m., officers of the Johnson City Police Department arrested Jonathon Murray, Elizabethton, and Daniel Hutchens, Chuckey, and charged them with unlawful drug paraphernalia, unlawful possession of a weapon, Schedule II drug violations, convicted felon in possession of a firearm, driving on suspended (first offense), violation of light law, and possession of methamphetamine with intent to resale.
While officers were patrolling the area of Steel Street and Myrtle Avenue, they observed a Jeep Patriot with a passenger side taillight emitting a white light from the rear. Officers conducted a traffic stop and made contact with Murray and Hutchens. During the encounter, an officer obtained probable cause to search the vehicle. During the search, officers located two handguns, 4 grams of methamphetamine, .4 grams of cocaine, multiple baggies, a scale, and other items of drug paraphernalia. Murray was also found to be driving on suspended license and a convicted felon.
Both were placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Detention Center. Murray is being held in lieu of a $16,000 bond and Hutchens is being held in lieu of a $12,000 bond. Both were arraigned in Washington County General Sessions Court on April 25.

On April 26, Investigators with the Johnson City Police Department arrested Jordan R. Malone, Kingsport, charging him with burglary.
The arrest comes as a result of an investigation into an assault that occurred on April 23. The victim of the assault came to the Johnson City Police Department to report that he had been assaulted while he was inside his vehicle in downtown Johnson City. Malone was identified as the suspect through the investigation and was subsequently charged.
Malone was arrested and transported to the Washington County Detention Center where he was being held on a $2,500 bond. An arraignment was on April 26 in Washington County General Sessions Court.
