JONESBOROUGH – Washington County Sheriff’s Investigators arrested Sidney Carl Davis, 77, of Gray, and charged him with Sale of Schedule III and VI Drug Violations, Maintaining a Dwelling for Controlled Substances and three counts of Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
According to Sheriff Keith Sexton, the arrest stems from an investigation into the illegal sales of narcotics by Davis from his residence on Rockingham Rd. A Search Warrant uncovered 10.1 grams of methamphetamine, 71.7 grams of marijuana and various unknown pills. Four handguns, several boxes of ammunition and $4,010 in cash were seized as well. Davis was convicted in 2006 for Schedule II Drug Violations as well as Maintaining a Dwelling, making it illegal for him to possess firearms.
Investigators found various drug paraphernalia throughout the house, including multiple sets of digital scales, torches, pipes and baggies. All were indicative of a narcotics distribution operation.
Davis was transported to the Washington County Detention Center without incident. His bond was set at $5,000. Davis will appear in Sessions Court at 1:30 p.m. on May 3.
