Sims Hill Christian
Bud Gentry, minister of Dewey Christian Church, Mountain City, will be the evangelist for a revival beginning Sunday at the Sims Hill Christian Church.
Worship services Sunday are at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Monday through Wednesday services are at 7 p.m.
Special music will be featured at each service and will include: Sunday evening, the Sims Hill Choir; Monday, Eve Justice and family; Tuesday, Sunshine, which includes Lynnette Poe, Sandra Cox, and Lauren Poe; and Wednesday, Jake Jenkins.
Everyone is invited to attend.

Tiger Creek First Free Will
Tiger Creek First Free Will Baptist Church, located on Tiger Creek Road, has re-opened after COVID and evangelist-preacher, Rev. John Vance, spending the winter in Inverness, Fla. Pastor Vance was covering for fellow preacher Jesse Lolly, who has since gone to be with the Lord.
Doors at Tiger Creek First will open Sunday, May 7, at 10 a.m.
Everyone is invited.
Watauga Valley FWB
Watauga Valley Free Will Baptist Church will have a hotdog dinner Friday, May 12, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the church.
Each dinner will include two hotdogs (your choice of toppings), chips, individually wrapped dessert, and drink. The cost is $7 for adults and $5 for children (one hotdog per child’s meal).
Persons may dine in or carryout.
All of the funds raised will go to support Watauga Valley Free Will Baptist Youth activities.
The church is located at 106 Watauga Valley Road in Hunter.
First Presbyterian
First Presbyterian Church, Elizabethton, will have both an in-person and online worship service Sunday at 11 a.m.
The pastor, the Rev. Brian Wyatt, will present the sermon “Turning Together” based on Jeremiah 18: 1-11.
Meditation is Wednesday at 7 p.m. and Adult Forum is at 9:30 a.m. each Sunday morning in Martin Hall and on Zoom.
The church is located at 119 West F St.
Chinquapin Grove Baptist
Chinquapin Grove Baptist Church will have revival May 7-10 with the Rev. Mike Stone as guest speaker. Rev. Stone has served the Georgia Baptist Convention and is a member of the Executive Committee of the Southern Baptist Convention.
Services are at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday and 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday.
The Rev. Jamie Ferguson is pastor.
First Baptist
Dr. Robert J. Morgan will be guest speaker Sunday at the morning worship service at First Baptist Church, Elizabethton.
Dr. Morgan, formerly of Roan Mountain, now resides in Nashville. He is the author of The Red Sea Rules, Then Sings My Soul, and dozens more books. He is a preacher, Bible teacher, and hymn expert.
The morning service is at 10:45 a.m.
The Rev. Todd Hallman is pastor.
First Christian
First Christian Church, 513 Hattie Ave., will have worship at 9:45 a.m. Sunday. The pastor has started a new series titled “On Purpose” following Mike Baker and Jason Sniff’s book.
Bible study is at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
The church has a food pantry. Persons needing a food box are asked to call the church office to make an appointment at 542-5651.
