The Green Pastures Group of Alcoholics Anonymous will meet at 8 p.m. at 411 East Elk Ave., Elizabethton.

• Monday, May 15

A State Certified Security Guard Class for armed security guard will be held at 9 a.m. at 135 Keenburg Road, Elizabethton. State Certified Instructor Ken Potter, who holds multiple certifications under commerce and insurance, will be instructing the class. The class is open to anyone who would like to obtain a license to work as a security officer. Topics will include legal issues, use of force active shooter and multiple other topics as required by the state. TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) will meet at First Baptist Church, 212 East F St., Elizabethton. Weigh-in begins at 5:30-6:30 p.m. with the meeting starting at 6:45 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend these meetings. • Tuesday, May 16

A State Certified Security Guard Class for chemical spray, handcuffing and taser-stungun will be held at 9 a.m. at 135 Keenburg Road, Elizabethton. Civilians can also train on the spray and taser-stungun to carry for self-defense. “New Way of Life,” a 12-step based, Open Recovery Meeting, will be held at noon at 413 East Elk Ave., Elizabethton.

• Thursday, May 18

The Wilson Cemetery Association will hold its annual meeting at 7 p.m. at the Watauga Valley FWB Fellowship Hall. Friends and family members of the cemetery association are encouraged to attend.

The Still Waters Group of Alcoholics Anonymous will meet at 8 p.m. at 210 South Hills Drive, Elizabethton.

• Sunday, May 21

The Roan Creek Masonic Lodge will sponsor a spring fundraiser lunch from noon until  2 p.m. The fundraiser is sponsored by the Butler Chapter No. 218 Order of the Eastern Star. The meal will include chicken casserole or ham, green beans, mashed potatoes, corn, slaw, apples, bread, dessert, and drink. Carry-outs are available. The cost is $10. Proceeds go to updating bathrooms. Modern Woodmen of America is a matching sponsor.
