KINGSPORT – Warriors’ Path State Park has opened a new marina and an upgraded Moody Bluff Campground,
The marina is a 4,400-square-foot facility that houses 350 square feet of rental space, perfect for parties or meetings. It offers 40 covered boat slips, eight short-term rental slips, a snack bar, gift shop, and kayak/canoe/paddle boat rentals. It has an all-new fuel system and a wider, safer, accessible rental dock area, which includes a kayak loader.
The Moody Bluff Campground features 40 renovated campsites with full hookups, including water, sewer, and electric service.
“We are making many improvements in Tennessee State Parks, and Warriors’ Path State Park is a great example,” said Mike Robertson, director of operations for the parks. “We’re proud of the facilities at the park, and we want our visitors to enjoy them.”
“We want our park visitors to have the best experience possible, so we welcome these facilities,” said Park Manager Sarah Leedy. “We hope families will make the most of these recreational opportunities.”
“The Friends of Warriors’ Path State Park are very excited to celebrate the opening of the new park marina and the improved campground,” said Reba Barber, president of the Friends of Warriors’ Path State Park support group. “We appreciate Tennessee State Parks, our own park staff, elected officials, and Friends who were part of getting these facilities in place for the enjoyment of our visitors and our local community.”
The 950-acre park is on the shores of the Patrick Henry Reservoir on the Holston River. It is home to premier boating, fishing, hiking, a scenic renowned mountain bike trail system, a nature education program, and a nationally recognized golf course. Warriors’ Path is the only Tennessee State Park with a Darrell’s Dream Boundless Playground, where children of all physical and mental abilities can play together. Warriors’ Path also has the only 36-hole disc golf course within a Tennessee State Park.
