The public is invited to enjoy artwork, fellowship, and snacks at the Meet the Artists reception for the Watauga Valley Art League summer show and sale Sunday at Sycamore Shoals State Historical Area. The reception will be from 1:30 to 4 p.m.
The art show opens June 11 and continues through June 25 at the park.
Member work typically includes a broad range of media, such as oil, acrylics, watercolor, pastel, pen and ink, mixed media and sculpture.
The group meets the second Sunday of the month from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the Sycamore Shoals State Park in Elizabethton.
Established in 1969, the art league has 100-plus members in the six Northeastern counties of Tennessee. Its mission is to encourage artists and promote public interest in fine arts through education, networking, and fellowship among members.
Its membership consists of art teachers, professional hobbyists, amateurs and some who just love art.
