Shoppers can find farmers and vendors of all sorts every Tuesday through August at the Covered Bridge Park.

From produce to local meats and eggs, to food trucks and artisan crafts, there is something for everyone at the Elizabethton Farmers’ Market. Shopping is from 4-7 p.m. each Tuesday during the summer.

“Our market is more like an event-type experience,” said market manager, Donica Krebs. “People can come after work on a Tuesday, do some shopping, get some supper from a food truck and then eat their food and relax in the park to live music before they head home. It’s a perfect way to end the day.”

Krebs said the two most important things shoppers should remember about the Elizabethton Farmers’ Market are the items for sale are locally produced and the market means shoppers are supporting local people from within the community.

“This is a producers’ only event,” Krebs said. “That means only those who grow and produce their products in this area can attend. You don’t have to worry that someone bought something from the back of a truck in South Carolina and brought it here to be sold. No – that doesn’t happen with us. I personally visit all the farms that attend our markets, so you can be sure that your shopping is with local people, producing and growing local products.”

Krebs said the market has always received wonderful support from the local community, including the local library offering educational information about local farming to children. “We try to make this a fun thing for both adults and kids – come on out and see what we have to offer,” Krebs suggested.
