Margaret Louise Miller Manning Timbs, 80, of Jonesborough, passed away at her home on Wednesday, June 14, 2023. She was a loving wife, caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was born in Avery, N.C., a daughter of the late Robert Fairbanks Miller and Myrtle Williams Miller.

Margaret was a strong Christian and a very involved member of King Springs Baptist Church. She enjoyed farming and gardening, as well as tending her cows. A day out fishing with her husband or relaxing at the beach was something she always cherished. She was her family’s Rock, and life will never be the same without her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Samuel Manning, and siblings, John, Raymond, Alma, Phyl-Ann, Jerry, and Janice.

Those surviving include her husband, Rex Timbs; children, Robin (J.C.), Teresa (Bill), Paul (Frances), Brian (Vinette), Allan (Stephanie), and Roy; siblings, Bobby, Eddie, Sue, Norma Jean, and Sandra; grandchildren, Chris (Mandy), Stacy, B.J., Tiffany (Jason), Nikki (Katheryn), Whitney (Joseph), Kerstynn (Trey), Madajah (Austin), Xavier, Allison, Andrew, and Aiden; great-grandchildren, Serena, Breanna, Mykenzie, Fury Leoni, Zoe, Aiden, Kiley, Sydney, Dean, Jack, Nykoli, Liam, Noah, Rylan, Jayden, and Ellie; as well as many more nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family of Margaret Manning Timbs will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 7 p.m., officiated by Pastor Gary Addington. The graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. the following day, Wednesday, June 21, at Washington County Memory Gardens. Those attending are asked to gather at the graveside by 10:50 a.m. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Memories and condolences may be sent to the family via www.morrisbaker.com.
