Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...
Even though the venue has changed from Elizabethton High to Harold McCormick, second year Head Cyclones Lady Volleyball Coach Carley Williams is excited for what this week is going to bring. “I am very excited to work with elementary/middle school kid’s athletes and helping them with their understanding of volleyball.” This will be Coach Williams first year running the camp but with other staff and players in place, she will not be alone. The former Emory and Henry College standout understands that above all, she wants all that come out to have fun, “we are going to give a lot of instruction while most importantly having fun,” Coach Williams shared.
Those who sign up will receive three days of drills, coaching and training in the hope of an increased love and understanding of the game. The camp will run June 21st-23rd and will have split time for third through fifth graders (11 am-12:30 pm) and sixth through eighth graders (12:30 pm – 2 pm). The hope is broken into smaller age groups, each camper will get more individualized and appropriate instruction. All skill levels are encouraged to come out. The camp’s focus will be on all parts of the game, including serving, passing, setting, hitting and blocking. The cost of the camp is $40 and that includes instruction, t-shirts and snack; in addition, concessions will be open.
