Borderview Christian
Borderview Christian Church, 1338 Bristol Highway, Elizabethton, will celebrate the 34th annual God and Country Day on Sunday, July 2. This celebration had its start during the Gulf War in 1990 as a community boost for patriotism. This year’s morning worship at 10:45 a.m. will feature the adult choir ministry musical, “Under God,” and a special veteran recognition.
The day will continue at 5 p.m. with a community block party with inflatables for the kids, followed at 6 p.m. by a free box supper, featuring BBQ or fried chicken as the entree. A wonderful gospel concert by the local group, LIFTED, will begin at 7:30 p.m. Fireworks will begin at dusk.
All guests can register for door prizes awarded throughout the evening. Everyone is welcome to attend this free event.

First Presbyterian
First Presbyterian Church, Elizabethton, will have both an in-person and online worship service Sunday at 11 a.m.
John Golden will be the guest speaker. He will present a sermon from Rom. 6: 1-11 and Matt. 10: 24-39 titled “Remembering Your Baptism in Appalachia.”
The church is located at 119 West F St.

First Christian
First Christian Church will have worship at 9:45 a.m. Sunday.
Bible study is Wednesday at 6 p.m.
The Men’s Breakfast is Saturday, July 1, at 8 a.m.
First Christian has a food pantry, and persons needing a food box can call the church office at 542-5651 to make an appointment.

Elk River Baptist
Elk River Baptist Church will have Vacation Bible School July 10-15 with classes from 5 to 7 p.m. daily.
There will be classes for all ages.
