Let me begin by saying I’m a pizza connoisseur. I love flavors and spices. I have traveled a lot of our country, and I almost always choose a mom and pops restaurant over chains any day. And when it comes to pizza, I am always looking for the best the area offers in Chicago; we got the amazing Chicago stuffed pizza which cannot be found anywhere around where I live. But I did discover a little gem. It’s called the Angry Italian, and finally, I found a pizza that rivals even those up north.

Now I am from this area but have lived all over, and one of the things I have discovered is in the northern states, they take more pride in flavors. They aren’t afraid to add spices and seasonings, but here it’s as if people are afraid to add too much in the way of taste. Don’t get me wrong, there are some fine restaurants here, but few really go all out in the flavor department; well, with the exception of one. The Angry Italian has a pizza that explodes with flavor; it is by far the best I have tried in the Tri-Cities area. They have the Chicago-style pizza and aren’t afraid to try the garlic, oregano, and parmesan on it; it’s, in a word, amazing! The secret to any good pizza is the sauce. People that order a bunch of stuff on a pizza are missing the flavor of the pie itself. When trying a new restaurant, order a pizza with nothing on it; that is the authentic pizza. If it is good enough to eat without adding anything, then it’s a good pizza. But if it’s not and you have to add toppings to make it taste good then move on. The pizza at the Angry Italian has an incredible sauce. I make a delicious red sauce, so I know a good one, and they have one. I highly recommend you try it for yourself.
