The City of Elizabethton offices will be closed July 4 for Independence Day. Garbage collection for the week of July 3 through July 7 will be as follows: Monday collected on schedule; Tuesday through Thursday collected one day late with Thursday and Friday being collected on Friday.
Also, the Elizabethton-Carter County Public Library and Elizabethton Senior Center will be closed.
Offices at the Carter County Courthouse will be closed Tuesday, as will all state and federal offices.
There will be no mail delivery Tuesday.
All financial institutions will be closed for Independence Day as will many businesses.
