New minister at city church

Bud “Buddy” Morefield is welcomed by Elizabethton Church of Christ as a full-time involvement minister, beginning July1. Bud is a graduate of the Memphis School of Preaching and has earned degrees from Milligan University with a B.S. in elementary education and a Masters in American  History from AMU. For the past 12 years he has been teaching both in the Johnson and Carter County School Systems. Bud began preaching at the age of 15 and was t minister in Mountain City for 15 years serving the Appalachian and later the Mountain City Churches of Christ. He is pictured with his wife, the former Emily Taylor and their six-year-old son, Finley. Both, Bud and Emily are graduates of Johnson County High School. She is a nurse practitioner at Medical Care. A spokesman for the church said they are extremely excited to have the Morefields join the Elizabethton congregation.
