JONESBOROUGH – Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a Jonesborough man and woman Sunday morning on multiple drug related charges.

R.B. Carver, 41, and Misti Runion, 46, were found asleep in a vehicle along Dry Creek Road around 8:30 a.m., July 2. The vehicle was not registered, and Carver had an active attachment from Johnson City Police Department. Upon searching Carver, deputies discovered a baggie containing a crystal-like powder in his pocket. Runion did not pass a Field Sobriety Test and was arrested for public intoxication.

K9 Sgt. Mafia was deployed to search the vehicle and discovered five glass cylinders. Both suspects were charged with unlawful drug paraphernalia.

Carver was subsequently charged with possession of methamphetamine. Both suspects were transported to the Washington County Detention Center without incident. Upon entering booking, deputies discovered two round glass cylinders with residue presumed to be methamphetamine on Runion. She was then charged with introduction of contraband into a penal facility.

Carver’s bond was set at $17,500 and Runion’s bond was set at $11,500. Both appeared in Sessions Court on July 3.
