Madison Smith of Elizabethton was recently recognized for completing the University Scholars Program at the University of Tennessee at Martin. Among the program requirement is completion of a senior project in cooperation with a faculty member. Dr. James Smart, professor of biology and her faculty member, is pictured with Smith, who received a bachelor’s degree during spring commencement exercises.
