Several members of the Elizabethton Senior Center as well as some other area seniors recently enjoyed an 11-day motor coach trip to South Dakota. Sites visited included Mt. Rushmore National Memorial, Crazy Horse Memorial, Badlands National Park, Wildlife Loop Road at Custer State Park (where the buffalo roam), and newly built 50-foot Dignity Statue.
Brenda Berry, who helped get the trip together shared: “It was a wonderful trip filled with fun, lots of good food and ice cream.”
Thirty-five seniors made the trip. Among those businesses who helped sponsor the trip were Mayflower Restaurant, Wendy’s, Paradise Salon, Dollar General, Wal-Mart, and the Dollar General Store.
Berry said another trip is planned in the fall to Lancaster, Pa. Among the sights included on the trip will be Hershey’s Chocolate World, Gettysburg National Park, the show “Moses” at the Sign and Sound Theater, and much more.
Seniors inerested in going on the trip can call the Elizabethton Senior Center at 543-4362 or Brenda Berry at 543-4476.
