Koda, a Border Collie shown with Elizabethton Carter County Animal Shelter Director Shannon Posada, was adopted out during the event but unfortunately returned due to unknown allergies in that family. She was quickly adopted by another family and is living a happy life in her new home.

Danny Deal, a member of the Friends of the Elizabethton Carter County Animal Shelter, feeds Miracle her daily cheeseburger. Miracle is a hardship case who was in bad shape for a very young puppy when she arrived. She is making a miraculous recovery thanks in part to Deal and the dedicated employees at the ECCAS. She is not quite ready for adoption but has come a long way since arriving a few months ago.

The Elizabethton-Carter County animal shelter held an after hours adoption event on Thursday, June 29th, with great results. Several dogs and cats were adopted out that day to loving forever homes.
“It was exciting to see so many people come to the shelter and adopt loving companions,” said Kathy Fraser, a volunteer helping with the event. “Right now all shelters are filled to overflowing, so anything that helps these great dogs and cats find homes is a wonderful thing.”
