Investigation leads to multiple drug, firearms charges for Jonesborough man

JONESBOROUGH – An ongoing investigation by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office led to the arrest of Imran Ahmed, 35, of 2128 Ida Sue Drive, Jonesborough, on multiple drug and firearms violations.

According to Sheriff Keith Sexton, after an investigation by the Sheriff’s Strike Team at 106 Salem Drive in Johnson City, Investigators obtained a search warrant and arrested the homeowner, Debra Fox, on multiple drug charges. While investigators were at the residence, Ahmed attempted to deliver 8 ounces of what is believed to be methamphetamine to Fox’s residence.

Investigators then obtained permission to search Ahmed’s residence at 2128 Ida Sue Drive in Jonesborough. Inside investigators discovered approximately 12.5 pounds of methamphetamine, 317.7 grams of Xanax type pills, multiple handguns and rifles along with more than $40,000 in cash.

His charges currently include two counts of manufacture/delivery/sell/possession of methamphetamine, eight counts of unlawful carrying or possession of a weapon, Schedule IV drug violations and three counts of unlawful drug paraphernalia.

Ahmed is currently being held in the Washington County Detention Center on a $40,000 bond. Arraignment was scheduled in Washington County General Sessions Court on July 13.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges and arrests are pending.
