Roan Mountain State Park will host a Pollinator Week Celebration July 22 from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Miller Farmstead House.
Ranger Phil Hylen will lead 20 participants on a nature walk about the nine-acre Monarch Waystation at the Miller Farmstead to get a close look at various type of pollinators and plants that attract them. Afterwards, guests will be given various species of native Northeast Tennessee seed bombs to take back and start their own pollinator gardens at home.
Guests are encouraged to bring water, binoculars, and a camera. Extra binoculars and butterfly nets will be present on site to help get a close-up look at certain species of insect. This program will begin and end at the Miller Farmstead House.
