Bucketneers to hold open practice Tuesday night

Scrimmage begins at 7 p.m. inside Brooks Gym

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (July 14, 2023) – With the Bucketneers – ETSU’s alumni team playing in The Basketball Tournament (TBT) – back on campus, the team will be holding an open practice on Tuesday, July 18 at 7 p.m. inside Brooks Gym.

Tuesday’s practice/scrimmage is free and open to the general public. Following the event, fans will get the opportunity to meet the players and get autographs. In addition, Bucketneers team merchandise will also be sold on site.

ETSU alums playing this year for the Bucketneers include Bo Hodges, Isaac Banks, Jalan McCloud and Jalen Riley. In addition, former Bucs Joe Hugley, Isaiah Tisdale, Patrick Good and Jordan Coffin are all part of the coaching staff, while Dillon Reppart is the General Manager.

The Bucketneers are 6-2 all-time in TBT and have reached the Sweet 16 each season.

The Bucketneers begin play in the $1 million, winner-take-all summer basketball tournament on Friday, July 21 when they take on the Fort Wayne Champs at 3 p.m. inside the Cintas Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. The winner of that game will face the winner of Program for Autism and Team DRC in the second round on Saturday, July 22 at 6 p.m.

The Xavier Regional championship game is Monday, July 24 at 7 p.m.

The winner of the Xavier Regional will head to UD Arena in Dayton, Ohio for the quarterfinals on Sunday, July 30. The semifinals and championship game will be Aug. 2-3 in Philadelphia at the Daskalakis Athletic Center.
