JONESBOROUGH – The Washington County Sheriff’s Strike Team recently arrested William E. Kelly Jr., 63, Bluff City, in connection to a recent investigation of drug activity on Salem Drive.

Kelly had his first court appearance on July 25, and is now charged with conspiracy to commit a felony and manufacture/delivery/sale/possession of methamphetamine over 0.5 grams.

According to Sheriff Keith Sexton, deputies arrested Kelly on July 12 when he arrived at a residence at 106 Salem Drive to purchase one ounce of methamphetamine from Debra Fox, whom investigators arrested earlier in the day.
In addition to the $445 in cash Kelly had on his person to purchase the methamphetamine with the intent to resell, deputies seized a 2003 Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

Kelly is currently in the Washington County Detention Center. The court set his bond at $3,500.
