To the Editor:
As I was leaving the service for Catherine Wooten Armstrong, at Happy Valley Cemetery, I thought, “How fortunate Carter County/Elizabethton City was to have Raymond Amos to lead his congregation at First United Methodist Church for years!”
It was evident, as he was speaking, that he knew Catherine; Bill; her family; her passion for God and His church; her burning desire to have the best for all students; and her love for animals.
The song, “It Is Well with My Soul,” was so fitting for the closing of the service that many will never forget.
