NASCAR Hall of Fame Great and 55-time NASCAR Winston Cup Series Winner Rusty Wallace will headline this year’s Great Futures Dinner on Thursday, September 14, 6-8 p.m. at the Tennessee College of Applied Technologies (TCAT) in Elizabethton.
Hosted by the Boys & Girls Club of Elizabethton/Carter County, the event will also feature a special musical performance by Carson Peters, who has made appearances on The Voice, the Grand Ole Opry and the CMA Awards. Emceeing the evening’s program will be WJHL – News Channel 11 Sports Director Kenny Hawkins.
The evening will also include a silent auction – sponsored by Elizabethton Ford-Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram – with an array of outstanding items. Just a few of those auction items include Rusty Wallace Driving Experiences, five-nights at a lovely New Smyrna Beach vacation condo, a fishing excursion with a former NFL coach and a Rusty Wallace autographed racing helmet.
Dinner will be provided by Black Olive Restaurant.
You can stand up as a champion for local youth by sponsoring and attending the Great Futures Dinner.  Your sponsorship will directly support a variety of services and programs at the Club, including buses that transport Club Kids from 14 different schools; the Club’s meal program which provides healthy meals and snacks; Project Learn, the Club’s academic enrichment program; the Club’s sensory room which focuses on social and emotional wellness; Diplomas2Degrees, a college and workforce readiness program, which also prepares young people to learn how to navigate workforce challenges.
There are various levels of sponsorship which include tables of eight, recognition throughout the event and the community. Event organizers say they hope to reach this year’s goal of $60,000 to support the Club’s local youth programs and services.
