Alma Shirlene “Shirl” Tolley Davis, of Hampton, passed through this life on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at Johnson City Medical Center. She was born in 1939 to the late Charlie and Lockie Hilmon Tolley and was the youngest and last remaining member of 12 siblings.
Shirl graduated from Hampton High School, then left her mountains to become the wife of a military husband. Traveling extensively throughout the U.S., she returned home in 1973 to continue raising her family. Shirl enjoyed working at ETSU for 30 years. She was a member of VFW Post 2108 and supported the Ladies Auxiliary.
Shirl lived life to the fullest, sharing her positive light with every person and creature who crossed her path. Her faith for her Lord Jesus and her love for her family knew no bounds. Our sweet Nannie will be missed and never forgotten.
She was a member of Little Doe Free Will Baptist Church, attended Grace Fellowship Church and recently really enjoyed the “Church” of Charles Stanley.
Those remaining to proudly carry on her legacy include her children, Kim (Ted) Walsh and Tim (Kim) Davis; her grandchildren, Cody Walsh and Sara Hannon, Taylor (Zack) Miller and Jake Davis; her great-grandchildren, Sullivan “Sully” Riley and Azalea “Zae”; and many special nieces and nephews.
Shirl was blessed with a multitude of friends that cherished her for her boundless love of life and selfless spirit.
