Beck Mountain Baptist will celebrate 75th Anniversary at Sunday service

Beck Mountain Baptist Church will celebrate its 75th anniversary at a homecoming service Sunday, Sept. 10, at 11 a.m. The Rev. Garry Edwards, former pastor, will be the guest preacher.
Following the service, lunch will be served in the fellowship hall.
The church was organized in the summer months of 1948 with 28 charter members, who included Isaac Campbell, Irving Campbell, Maude Cooke, Logan Hardin, Pearl Hardin, Betty Jo Hardin, Jack Hardin, Smith Hardin, Raymond Hardin, Stella Hardin, Harrison Hardin, Grayson Hardin, Wanda Hardin, Robert E. Hardin, Bertie Hardin, Ruth Hardin, Lucille Hardin, Grace Lovelace, Mrs. Harold Lovelace, Rebecca Lovelace, Mrs. Ruby Webb, Burton Webb, Noah Webb, Essie Webb, Willie Webb, Hobart Nave, and Harry Scalf.
The church has been served by 17 pastors with the first pastor being the Rev. Lloyd Greer. The Rev. Ronnie Campbell is the present pastor, and has been with the church 25 years.
The church was formally organized on Sept. 26, 1948. The congregation voted on June 29, 1949, to affiliate with the Watauga Association of Baptists. Today, the church supports associational, state, home and international missions.
All former members of the church and friends are invited to attend the service.
