The Graysin Slade Band, a rock and roll band, will perform at the Bonnie Kate Theater Saturday evening from 7 to 11:30 p.m.
The band is one of the fastest growing and most entertaining underground rock ‘n roll bands in the country.
The world was forced to shut down in 2020 and music venues were hit the hardest by these new rules. At this point Graysin had just quit his job a year earlier and was sitting idly and distraught at the news his bandmates of two years were calling it quits. Forced to make a decision to either live off of the government stimulus, go find a job, or find a way to adapt and keep his dream alive he chose the later. Graysin thought to himself that during historic unprecedented times there is always an opportunity to create greatness. Even though the last band took a year and a half to create and had so many hardships along the way he was determined to continue.
Within a month Graysin was able to create a new band and started producing underground shows known as the Rock ‘N Roll Speakeasy. While most bands broke up or sat on the sidelines all eyes were on Graysin and word began to spread. Soon he found a whole new fan base and bars willing to hire him in the Texas hill country. This new market sparked a new idea. The band needed to leave home and go where like minded people wouldn’t have to hide their gatherings. But unfortunately, the new band’s success was short lived and it began to unravel. Out of necessity, Graysin had recorded drum tracks and bass lines on his laptop when members started to individually bail. This twist of fate left Graysin without a live band but something new had been created. The one-man band was born and Graysin began performing around Texas growing his craft and confidence. Soon he began making calls to Tennessee and Alabama and his first tour was reality.
Graysin then became a one-man band and 2022 was the year of the duo. That year two lovely souls would unite and write a beautiful love story together. 2023 is the year of the drummer. The year of friendship. The year “Big Money” Alex Chase the drummer with the most hustle in Knoxville
jumped in Graysin’s car and fearlessly hit the road after one practice. This amazing story continues to be written.
Tickets are $10.
