Cyclones cross country finishes in 7th place in the 2023 Woodbridge Classic – Irvine, California

The Elizabethton Cyclone cross country represented Northeast Tennessee in splendid fashion as they competed in the 42nd Annual Woodbridge Classic held in Irvine, California over the weekend.
The team participated in the White division of the race and collected a seventh-place finish out of 29 teams that were in the category, as all of the runners recorded personal best during the event.
In the sophomore race, Cyclone runner Jacob Jenkins finished the course in a time of 19:48 to medal in his category. Jeremiah Norris participated in the Junior race and finished in a time of 21:04.
Cyclone harriers Alex Loughner and John Siepert collected medals in the Senior race as Loughner finished in a time of 19:09 while Siepert wasn’t far behind his teammate crossing in a time of 20:44.
In the Varsity race, four Cyclone runners medaled, led by Riley Vernon, who clocked a time of 16:11. Max Garner was :16 behind Vernon as Garner finished the event in a time of 16:27.
Jerry Behrmann and Cooper Chinault ran an almost photo finish race as Behrmann edged across the line in a time of 17:02 while Chinault was just a mere :02 behind his teammate finishing with a 17:04.
Brian Presley (17:43), Will Snodgrass (17:56), and Cooper Jack (18:44) also legged fast times in adding to the team finish.
