Schedule of activities at the Elizabethton Senior Center, 428 East G Street, for the week of September 25-29:
Hours: Monday – Thursday: 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.; Friday: 8 a.m. – 12 noon.
The billiard room and fitness room are open and no appointments necessary.
Monday: Balance, Toning & Strengthening – Provided by Gerihab Mobile, Instructor K.C., Free, 9:15 a.m.; QiGong: Balance & Flexibility, Instructor Adina Madore, $3, 10 a.m.; Lunch – Oven Fried Chicken, 11 a.m.; Chair Yoga – Provided by Yoga Farm Instructor, Shirley Gomillian, $3, 12:15-1:15 p.m.; Gentle-flow Yoga – Provided by Yoga Farm Instructor, Cindy Brugnoletti, $3, 1:30-2:30 p.m.
Tuesday: Grandparents Raising Grandchildren, Elizabethton Senior Center, 10 a.m.; Lunch – Chili Dog with Onions, 11 a.m.; Line Dancing – Sharon Pilk, 12-2 p.m., $3.
Wednesday: Just Keep Movin’ – Cardio, Toning, Strength Building, Free, 9-10 a.m.; Lunch – Polish Sausage & Cabbage, 11 a.m.; Chair Yoga, 12:15-1:15 p.m., with Instructor, Shirley Gomillian, $3; Gentle-flow Yoga, 1:30-2:30 p.m., with Instructor, Cindy Brugnoletti, $3.
Thursday: Lunch – Tuna Salad, 11 a.m.; Fundraising Committee Meeting, Donuts & Coffee, 12:30 p.m.
Friday: Birthday Bingo! Cupcakes & Refreshments – Sponsored by Woman’s Civic Club of Elizabethton & Silver Angels, 10 a.m.; Lunch – Taco Casserole, 11 a.m.

REMINDER: Street signs with reflective numbers are still available at the Center for a cost of $5. These are provided at this discount price through our SALT Council. Make sure you can be located in case of an emergency.
Grandparents Raising Grandchildren – Are you raising a grandchild or even a great-grandchild? Grandparents Raising Grandchildren meets on the last Tuesday of every month at 10 a.m. at the Elizabethton Senior Center. Next meeting is September 26.
The Elizabethton Senior Center, partnered with First Tennessee Area Agency on Aging, is currently seeking an Options Counselor. The Center is accepting applications for a full-time Options Counselor position for 40 hours a week at $14.70 per hour plus an Insurance Stipend. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, administering in-home assessments/reassessments, maintaining files, completing care service plans, and entering data in computer software system. Travel will be required with mileage reimbursement. Preferred education is one of the following: LPN, bachelor’s in social work, Psychology, or related field. Will consider applicants with a minimum completion of two (2) years’ attendance at an accredited college or university and a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in social work or related field.
