Charles Sammy Nave, 86, of Elizabethton, Tenn., passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital in Elizabethton. Sammy was born in Carter County to the late Charlie H. Nave and Minnie Esther Campbell Nave. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Ricky Lee Nave; sister, Charlotte Nave Taylor Dunn; and one brother, Cloe H. Nave.
Sammy retired from General Motors in Atlanta, Ga., and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Sammy liked ducks of all kinds and eagles.
Survivors include Sammy’s brother and sister-in-law, Conn and Sherry Nave of Elizabethton, and several nieces and nephews.
A committal and inurnment service to honor Sammy’s life will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, October 2, at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Rev. Travis Biller officiating. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:50 a.m. Monday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Sammy to Immanuel Baptist Church, 205 Hunter Avenue, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
