On Monday, October 9, 2023 Deborah Lynn (Largent) Younce, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed from this life peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family and fur babies. Debbie was born in Elizabethton, a daughter of the late Kermit and Loretta Brockwell Largent. She had also mourned the loss of a brother, Wesley Largent, and a nephew, Jeffery Largent.
Debbie had an endless love and devotion for her family. She was vigilant, protective and full of love and laughter. A faithful wife of 22 years, Debbie was of the Baptist faith and the foundation of her family. Debbie had a giving and caring heart and a wonderful sense of knowledge and wisdom that she shared with family and her friends. She was someone that you could count on in hard times and someone to lean on in times of trouble. Debbie had strength and dependability that never faltered and even in sickness, her strength and determination shone through. Debbie had a strong work ethic and although she had many roles in life, being a wife, mother and grandmother made the greatest impact and gave the greatest joy. Whether visiting the beach, gardening, cooking and baking, watching her favorite TV shows or playing with her animals, Debbie loved spending time and making forever memories with her family. Her passing leaves a tremendous void in our lives, but her love for us lives on in our precious memories.
Debbie leaves behind her beloved husband of 22 years, Rick Younce of Elizabethton; three daughters, Misti Summers and husband Eric of Kingsport, Messala Tolley of Elizabethton and Amber Younce of Elizabethton; four sons, Shane Younce, Chris Younce, Shawn Younce and wife April and Matthew Largent, all of Elizabethton; five brothers, Rick Largent and wife Sharon of Elizabethton, Dale Largent and wife Barbra of Hampton, Randy Largent and wife Christine, Jeff Largent and wife Christine and Robert Brockwell and wife Marie, all of Elizabethton; her sister, Karen Klopfenstein and husband Brian of South Carolina; 18 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Several nieces and nephews and special fur babies also survive.
A graveside service to celebrate Debbie’s life will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 13, at Mountain Home National Cemetery (Historic Section) with Rev. Bill Younce officiating. Special music will be provided by Mr. Jon Shell (bagpipes). Active pallbearers will be chosen from family and friends. Those wishing to attend the celebration graveside service are asked to meet at Mountain Home National Cemetery (Historic Section) at 10:45 a.m. Friday.
