Janey Louise Cain, 84, of Gray, Tenn., went Home to be with her Heavenly Father while surrounded by her loving daughters on Monday, October 9, 2023.
Janey was born January 15, 1939, to the late John and Ada Starks Owens in Elizabethton, Tenn.
She was a longtime member of Union Christian Church.
Janey always put her family first. She was a homemaker, and a devoted wife and mother. She loved cooking large meals for her family. She will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Clarence “C.A.” Cain; brothers, Elbert, Bob, John, and Jim Owens; and sisters, Margie Tilley and Margaret Butler.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Sherry Mott and Robin Cain; grandson, Jacob Cole; and several nieces and nephews.
Janey’s family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 17, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1:30 p.m. under the direction of Lamar Garrison, minister. A committal service will commence at 3 p.m. at Snyder’s Memorial Gardens. Those attending the committal service are asked to meet at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Janey’s memory are directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (https://www.stjude.org/).
