Schedule of activities at the Elizabethton Senior Center, 428 East G Street, for the week of Monday, Oct. 16 – Friday, Oct. 20:
Hours: Monday – Thursday: 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.; Friday: 8 a.m. – 12 noon.
The billiard room and fitness room are open and no appointments are necessary.
Monday: Balance, Toning & Strengthening – Instructor, K.C. with Gerihab Mobile, $3, 8:30 a.m.; QiGong: Balance & Flexibility – Instructor, Adina Madore, $3; Lunch – Chicken & Dumplings, 11 a.m.; Chair Yoga – Instructor, Shirley Gomillian with Yoga Farm, $3, 12:15-1:15 p.m.; Gentle-flow Yoga – Instructor, Cindy Brugnoletti with Yoga Farm, $3, 1:30-2:30 p.m.
Tuesday: Ready Go Senior Transport Presentation – Learn about a transportation resource near you, 10 a.m.; Lunch – Chili Dog, 11 a.m.; Line Dancing – Sharon Pilk, 12-2 p.m., $3.
Wednesday: Just Keep Movin’ – Cardio, Toning, Strength Building, Free, 9-10 a.m.; Melody Hour – Join in and listen or bring an instrument, 10 a.m.; Lunch – Country Style Steak, 11 a.m.;
Chair Yoga – Instructor, Shirley Gomillian with Yoga Farm, $3, 12:15-1:15 p.m.; Gentle-flow Yoga – Instructor, Cindy Brugnoletti with Yoga Farm, $3, 1:30-2:30 p.m.
Thursday: Lunch – Breaded Chicken Tenders, 11 a.m.; COPD Educational Seminar, ETSU Health, 1-2 p.m.
Friday: Let’s Play Bingo and celebrate the Center’s 55th anniversary of serving our seniors! Special host and sponsor, Silver Angels. Snacks and refreshments for everyone; Lunch – Potato Soup with Cheese and Ham, 11 a.m.

REMINDER: Street signs with reflective numbers are still available at the Center for a cost of $5. These are provided at this discount price through our SALT Council. Make sure you can be located in case of an emergency.
Grandparents Raising Grandchildren – Are you raising a grandchild or even a great-grandchild? Grandparents Raising Grandchildren meets on the last Tuesday of every month at 10 a.m. Next meeting is October 31 at the Carter County Health Department.
The Elizabethton Senior Center, partnered with First Tennessee Area Agency on Aging, is currently seeking an Options Counselor. The Center is accepting applications for a full-time Options Counselor position for 40 hours a week at $14.70 per hour plus an Insurance Stipend. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, administering in-home assessments/reassessments, maintaining files, completing care service plans, and entering data in computer software system. Travel will be required with mileage reimbursement. Preferred education is one of the following: LPN, bachelor’s in social work, Psychology, or related field. Will consider applicants with a minimum completion of two (2) years’ attendance at an accredited college or university and a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in social work or related field.
