Visible changes are coming soon to ECU’s Elizabethton location following months of site preparation and behind-the-scenes collaboration to create an innovative and modern member experience that compliments ECU’s extraordinary service model.
“Our members always come first. That’s why we’ve worked closely with an innovative team to develop this new branch concept that will go above and beyond our members’ expectations. Solidifying our new design was a fun and unique journey. This is the largest interdepartmental, collaborative effort we’ve had in delivering a new branch. It’s been awesome watching it unfold,” said Kelly Price, president and CEO of Eastman Credit Union.
Before ECU’s April groundbreaking on the West Elk property, the corner property underwent a significant transformation to create a blank slate for commercial construction.
“A tremendous amount of work and effort has taken place since our ECU groundbreaking in April, as we’ve transformed this site from a residential to a commercial property. During that time, we’ve evolved our current branch model, modernized many of the aesthetic elements, and focused on the infrastructure of branch operations. Now that the design process is complete, our general contractor is finalizing the details, and construction will begin soon,” said Kurt Cornett, Facilities Project Manager for ECU’s Elizabethton site.
Site work activities will continue through October and most of November, leading up to the branch construction phase, with a branch opening date targeted for late spring.
“We’ve engaged in a thoughtful process to finalize this branch design with the help of our experienced local contractors CainRashWest Architects and GRC Construction. We anticipate this branch will be a prototype for future builds, and we’re excited to unveil it in Elizabethton,” said Price.
