Pearce promoted to rank of Sergeant

City of Elizabethton Police Chief Jason Shaw has recently announced a promotion within the department. The promotional process consisted of a written test, a structured interview before a panel of supervisors from outside agencies, and an additional interview.
Justin Pearce, a 12-year veteran of the police department, has been promoted to the rank of Sergeant after being sworn in at Elizabethton City Hall on Thursday afternoon by City Clerk Preston Cobb.
Pearce has served in many capacities at the EPD including patrol officer, field training officer, assistant team leader of the Special Response Team, bicycle patrol officer, certified vehicle crash re-constructionist, and emergency vehicle operations instructor.
He spent six years in the United States Marine Corps with two overseas deployments receiving an honorable discharge having achieved the rank of Corporal. Sergeant Pearce will be assigned in a supervisory role on one of the department’s patrol shifts.
