Michael Dale Blevins, 75, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 25, 2023.
He was born on October 2, 1948 in South Bend, Ind., but spent his entire life in Roan Mountain, Tenn., where he was a successful businessman of Blevins Auto Enterprise for 43 years.
Michael was an avid street rodder and enjoyed spending his retirement “looking for a deal” with his family and friends. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Little Mountain Baptist Church in Roan Mountain.
Michael was a member of Pipefitters Union Local 538. In earlier years, he loved to attend car shows.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Nat and Polly Blevins, and a brother, Terry Lee Blevins.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 40 years, Jada Blevins, Elizabethton; two daughters, Lindsay (Jonathan) Rigsby, Maynardville, Tenn., and Leia (Nick) Holder, Elizabethton; two grandchildren, Tenley and Roan Rigsby, Maynardville, Tenn.; a brother, Greg (Cindy) Keller, Mishawaka, Ind.; and special friends, Dean Pilkton, Charles Odom, Tony Whitehead, Keith Bowers, all of his junk yard buddies as well as many more he met over the years. Also surviving is his cat named Kitty, who he loved very much, and also his dog, Ace.
The family will hold a service at 3 p.m. Saturday, October 28, at the Captain Nelson Cemetery on Ripshin Mountain. Rev. Gary Whitehead will be officiating and son-in-law, Jonathan Rigsby, and granddaughter, Tenley Rigsby, will be saying a few special words as well. Joel Crisp will provide music. The family will also have a Celebration of Life at a later date. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Sycamore Shoals Hospital for all their love and support during his stay there.
