CITY OF ELIZABETHTON PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICER
Timothy Garland was sworn in as a Corporal with the Elizabethton Police Department on Monday morning. City of Elizabethton Deputy Clerk Jennifer Arnold administered the oath inside the City Council Chambers at Elizabethton City Hall.
Garland has 15 years of law enforcement experience from working at ETSU Public Safety and the Carter County Sheriff’s Department. Corporal Garland will be assigned to a patrol shift after he completes the lateral officer field training program.
“We are glad to have Timothy Garland join our team today,” said Elizabethton Chief of Police Jason Shaw. “He is an experienced police officer, qualifying to start with us at the rank of Corporal through our lateral hiring program.”
