Corrine Williams Ballard, 88, of Elizabethton, Tenn., went home to be with the Lord and her beloved husband on Monday, November 6, 2023, at Hermitage Health Center of Elizabethton. Corrine was born in Hampton, Tenn., to the late Jessie and Maggie Wilson Williams. She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Mack Ballard, in 2022; four sisters; two brothers; and a son-in-law, Jerry English.
Corrine retired from the restaurant business and was a loyal and devoted member of Union Hill Free Will Baptist Church. She was above all, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, who loved her family and her Lord with everything she had. Corrine enjoyed working dot to dot puzzle books and spending time making memories with her family.
Those left to remember and cherish Corrine’s memory include her daughters, Karen Ward and husband Kenneth of Elizabethton and Lorraine English of Johnson City; her son, Alan Grindstaff of Elizabethton; four granddaughters; six great-granddaughters; two great-grandsons; two great-great-granddaughters; and a special cousin, Ray Williams and wife Onie. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 9, in the Buckles Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home at 10:15 a.m. Thursday to go in procession. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations in Corrine’s memory to the Jericho Shriners, 1100 Jericho Drive, Kingsport, TN 37663 or by visiting their website at www.jerichoshrine.com.
