TA Dugger Swim Team had a strong showing at first meet

Head EHS Swim Coach Kelli Broussard knows to have a top-notch high school program, her junior high program will have to be strong and she is well on her way. The Junior Cyclones had a strong showing taking on University High and one of the premier programs in this area in Johnson City Middle School. When the last ripple had settled in the pool, TAD had finished just 16 points behind JCMS in the overall standing and had taken the top spot in the Girls’ scores.

In the Relay events, the Jr. Cyclones captured the top spot in the 100-yard Girls’ Medley led by Ell Nekvasil, Trinity Hopwood, Molly Laney and Alayna Holt with a time of 1:02:12. This same group of girls also finished first in the 200-yard Freestyle Relay with a time 0f 2:01:56. The Boys team led by Jaiden Wiles, Thomas Hill, David Gibson and Louis Trivette took first in the 100-yard Freestyle Relay with a time of 1:05:15

Individually the day was highlighted by a first-place showing by Molly Laney in the 50-yard Butterfly and by Trinity Hopwood with a first-place finish in the 50-yard Breaststroke. The boys were led by Louis Trivette, with a first-place finish, in the 50-yard Freestyle. Several school records also fell during the day, including the boys and girls 100 Freestyle (Trivette, Nekvasil), Girls 100 IM (Hopwood), Girls 50 Butterfly (Laney), Boys and Girls Relay 100 Freestyle, 50 Backstroke (Nekvasil), Girls  50 Breaststroke (Hopwood) and the Girls 200 Freestyle Relay.
